  9. This simple key-in sequence will enable the Standard 528 twin band HT
  10. to receive out of band signals up 999MHz.
  11. 1) enter UHF side (UHF is main)
  12. 2) enter VFO mode
  13. 3) push F + L (function key + light key)
  14. 4) then F + 0 (function key + zero key)
  15. 5) next F + code (funtion key + code key)
  16. 6) then F + L (function key + light key (again))
  17. 7) next F + 3 (function key + three key)
  18. 8) then PTT   (push to talk button)

  20. Now your in!  To change bands you have to press F + 0 followed by F + 3
  21. ,  this is the toggle function.  Each time you enter the F + 0 and F + 3
  22. the receiver will jump bands.  To get back to 440 (where you started from)
  23. keep using the toggle sequence.
  24. If you did something wrong and the HT losses its mind DON'T PANIC!  Just
  25. push the microproc. reset button.  I have done this keyboard entery mod to
  26. my HT and it works.  The sensitivity isn't great, but you can pick up any-
  27. thing that has a strong signal.
  28. This information was obtained from the local Standard representitive in
  29. Chicago.  I'm sure there are other things This radio can do that I am
  30. not aware of, but when I find out I will post it here just for the heck of it.
  31. P.S. If I made a mistake in the key sequence list above I will post any
  32. corrections by the end of this week 10/30/92.

  52. I too have a Standard C528 (as do quite a few of the other local amateurs 
  53. here), and I'm very happy with it. In addition to the sequence you gave,
  54. there is also a (longer) sequence which enables wide-band transmit (how
  55. wide I don't know as I've no need to use it). There are also quite a few
  56. additional functions available off the keyboard from those documented.
  57. Appended below this is a table (which I keep as an Excel spreadsheet),
  58. listing the various functions in rather abbreviated form - I'd be very
  59. interested in learning about any others.

  61. Note the extra memory channels - there are actually 20 on each band, the
  62. upper 10 are accessed as shown below (accesed with a F+A prefix key,
  63. and displayed with a bar over the number). You can't use them in band
  64. scanning, but apart from that they function as normal memories.

  120. Here is a little mods list.  I find the 40ch mem a bit messy so
  121. I don't use it and you can get the phone tones by pressing
  122. the ptt and a number on the pad.

  129. of TX RX on 122.825 to 176.800MHz
  130. and 328.000 to 473.125MHz.
